The Principal
RONAN DE GUZMAN
LLB (Hons) / Principal
Ronan worked for other New Zealand law firms before creating De Guzman Legal. His vision is to create a law firm with a trusted team that grows in excellence to make a positive change in people’s lives. Ronan was born and raised in the Philippines but moved to New Zealand in 2007 as a migrant and became a Kiwi citizen. He experienced various types of work before attending New Zealand law school. Ronan obtained his law degree from Waikato University, graduating with Honours. Ronan specialises in Immigration Law and has significant experience with New Zealand’s visa issuing systems and governing bodies, as well as general legal practice, allowing him to offer a broad range of legal services to his clients.
In 2021, Ronan served as a Council Member of the New Zealand Law Society for the Waikato – Bay of Plenty. He is heavily involved in reaching out to migrants by providing free seminars, usually coordinated by different community groups and organizations all over New Zealand. In addition, he disseminates policy updates through his social media. Ronan loves to drive around when there is an opportunity, together with his dog, whom he treats as his own child.
